On April 25, 2012 Rising Realty Chairman and CEO, Nelson Rising received the prestigious "Spirit of Los Angeles Award" from the Los Angeles Headquarters Association.

Each year, the business group which represents over 150 local companies, honors an individual whose civic involvement and dedication helps shape the city’s economic success and quality of life.

As a 40 year veteran to the real estate industry, Rising has been a leader in the property development of Library Square, the US Bank Tower and Gas Company Tower. The UCLA Alum was recently appointed by Governor Jerry Brown as one of three governing board members responsible for dissolving the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles. Rising is also Chairman of the Grand Avenue Committee and part of the management team for the Grand Avenue Project –a project designed to revive Downtown Los Angeles with a fresh and thriving city center.
